Great service, great food, and great prices! Very comfortable, nice atmosphere whether busy or quiet. Love it!
We had a wonderful day at Matchbox. Our server, Solomon, was excellent. We sat at the bar and ordered appetizers, pizza, and drinks.
Absolutely love this place / the food is very well prepared and the staff is very courteous We ordered their fire and smoke spicy pizza with Gouda cheese and chicken, and it was great. Twice did we visit, and twice it maintained the taste. The spicy sauce with it however is not great but can still ask for some chilli flakes
The food and service were excellent. We had a large group and had a great experience.
Visited a DC friend & we met up at Matchbox in Pentagon City Arlington for dinner at Matchbox. The atmosphere was nice a bit noisy as we had a family of 6 seated behind us with crying kids. Our waiter Jose was attentive & very nice. The food was good for appetizers we had the arancini, hot artichoke & spinach dip & chicken wings! For mains we had the 10" pepperoni & sausage brick oven pizza & the sangria & strawberry rose margarita for cocktails. Overall we had a nice time catching up over good food & drinks!
I made a reservation at the Matchbox, saw this place on the restaurant week lineup. And decided to try. When you come here, make sure to park in the parking garage. We were a few minutes late, but they still were able to accommodate us. The service here is excellent! we were greeted promptly at the door by the host and seated upstairs. This is such a spacious area with beautiful decor and nice cool temperatures. Our waiter Alejandro was excellent! He was very attentive and gave suitable recommendations that did not disappoint. His was so on point with our orders! We ordered pizza and drinks, which came out promptly. The pizza was ok, my husband wished his had more sauce, but mine was delicious. I got sausage + peppers and he got pepperoni. The cocktails were strong!! So good! if you're in the area, & need a quick date night spot, this is it. It's cozy, a little intimate, a nice downstairs bar area for socializing, and casual!
Haven't been to a Matchbox restaurant since I left the DC area 10 years ago. It was a nearby brunch option so I stopped in. This location is huge- and beautiful. Apparently they use it for employee training. Fantastic brunch- strawberry French toast and a great Bloody Mary. I couldn't finish it all. Had to get a side of sausage gravy and biscuits because it's a favorite. A bit spicy but good. Great menu for brunch- I suspect the pizza is as good as I remember. Next time.
Metro accessible. After you scan your metro card out of the station, immediately turn LEFT and take the escalators up the stairs headed towards the outside. You will be directly facing Matchbox at the top of the escalator. More of a small, no nonsense menu. Drinks, salad, entrees and pizza. Pizza looks good. I got the Crispy chicken meal. I knew I wasn't going to eat it all, my guest asked for the waitress to immediately box half of the chicken up for me lol. And it all worked out. I actually got a whole chicken leg that was boxed to the table with our dinner Restaurant closed at 930. my guest and I were just chatting away when at 925 I asked our wonderful waitress Heidi what time it closed and she said 930. There was no rush for us to leave the restaurant. Bathrooms were playing cool 90s pop music. Only 2 stalls tho. Nice place!
Came in for a late dinner after a conference since this was in walking distance from our hotel. Our server was attentive and even though it was near the end of the night our food came out fresh and hot. The pizza was delicious. It was hot, a great portion, and the pepperonis had a great crisp. The side salad was a great size and took the place of the vegetable that came with the fried chicken for a small Upcharge. The chicken was hot and super crispy. It was honestly some of the best restaurant fried chicken I've had especially at a place with this amount of variety and that isn't a soul food or southern style restaurant.
